Ways to get involved

How can members of our School community help?

  • Choose a bulb with your child to bring to the bulb planting day – daffodils, tulips, crocus, snowdrops, Scylla, all welcome. Please remember what colour the flower is as we might plant a rainbow! Neal’s garden centre have a bulb pick and mix, and many supermarkets sell bulbs too.  Wyevale Garden Centre in Lower Morden has lots of bulbs and a soft play area.
  • Donate a plant - these can be cuttings from your garden too.  Please see our Plants and Equipment Wishlist.
  • Join in the class bench sponsorship fundraising challenge – see your class rep for details
  • Help out with the watering rota – Tawny Hazelwood (Darwin Class Rep) coordinating
  • Add to the compost: Put your uncooked fruit and veg peelings, used teabags and coffee grounds in the compost bin
  • Talk to your child about gardening, growing and what they would like to grow here
  • Get a Co-op membership card and nominate FOFW as your charity of choice.  New members can join from 21st September 2016
  • Keep following the project on this section of the School website, where we will have photos, details of events, news etc.; or on Twitter through the FOFW feed
  • Send ideas and offers of help to floreatgarden@gmail.com - gardening grandparents very welcome too!

How can businesses and members of our wider community help?

Do you have any of the following that you could donate or supply at a discounted rate?

  • Plants - these can be newly purchased or we would love cuttings from your gardens and allotments
  • Equipment - we need gardening equipment
  • Railway sleepers for our plant borders
